Glossary of technical terms

• Execution trace: the complete history of a program’s execution.
• Instrumenter: a system that transforms the debugged program so as to insert instructions that when executed add elements to the execution trace.
• Events database: a database that stores the runtime events that occur during the execution of the debugged program.
• Structure database: a database that stores information about the static structure (classes, methods…) of the debugged program.
• Probe: an instrumentation point in the debugged program.
